To “fast” means “skip food.” In the Orthodox Church, Lent is 40 days all the way to Easter (Pascha). That mean we skip some food when Lent. When come Lent, Orthodox Christians not supposed to eat meat, fish, milk, and eggs. So what can we eat? Get plenny food can eat. Can eat shell fish: shrimp, crab, opihi, scallops. Can eat vegetable, fruit, coconut, rice, poi, tofu, and odda kine food. But gotta make sure we don’t stuff our stomach with food and we gotta remember to tell God: “Mahalo for da food you wen give us!”
For the food listed below, we tried to find food that are vegan; however, some might be more vegetarian than vegan. We are not super strict in what we call “Lenten” food.
